Trump & BoJo pornhub feature length, I think I just broke about 12 site rules (and I feel sick)

I couldn't find Donkey's email so not sure what is happening over there, the site itself has been pretty dead for a while as most of us know. Lionel holds the 'keys' so if he isn't interested it may just be lost to the abyss.

Isn't this the reason this site was created a couple years ago?

At least this site exists and has plenty of info now. Loosing a site (and all the valuable info) really SUCKS. Our windmill restoration forum has gone by the wayside twice now ... such a waste of info. We used to get a lot of rebuild threads on there ... not so much anymore as people don't want to spend the time, only to have it poof after a few years.

I'd say yes, certainly one of the major motivations. Absence of the AA site owner and the Photobucket debacle are examples that threatened preservation of historical record at AA and I totally agree, that affects how willing people are to build the information base of this or any site. David has addressed preservation of the photo record and I am quite certain, if he ever tired of managing this site, he would handle it differently and pass it to someone to maintain going forward.......but I wouldn't be looking for that to happen anytime soon!!!!!

I certainly hope the AA issue is just temporary. Where's Rasper hanging out?

    Best,
    Kelly

I think Rasper signed up here but I could be imagining it? David? The AA forum was broken away from Lionels site/server years ago so his pages still being up are not connected.

It may pop back up if someone is in control but if not ..... long live the king and all that

Yeah, Richard is around here somewhere. But he can't do anything with AA. He was never given the keys, but should have been.

I sure hope the foundry bible is still around somewhere. I think I downloaded it. Wish we could put it up here.

I have not heard from Lionel yet in response to my message. Although I am the only administrator, other than Lionel, I have limited permissions. I can't go in and copy the data.
This has happened several times before, and he has come back to life and fixed it each time when I told him about it. We shall see.

Something new I've just learned about is there is hacking going on with forum websites. There is a new hacker program trying to pick pin numbers. Most web sites only allow you five tries and then you get locked out for a 15 minute. Sometimes an email is sent out that you've exceeded the five tries. Two websites that I have heard of have been hacked. The pin numbers recovered.

Please do not use the same pin number for websites as you do your email and banking information.

If you think your account on this forum or other forums have been compromised, there should be an email designation. If there is not, create a new membership ASAP with a different email address, then reach out to moderators/administrators, fully explain your situation.

I personally hope alloy Avenue is not receiving this kind of attack. But it can be cleaned up pretty quickly with administration privileges.

Site is still screwed. The guy with the admin privileges is MIA. As much as that sight has TONS of excellent information on it, let's face it, vbulletin is a POS these days. AA was due a massive overhaul about 5years ago. Richard couldn't authorize people more space for photo storage on site so folks used photofuket and when they broke the internet, threads all over hell and back became worthless. I even found myself DUMPING photos in my own threads just to post something new for someone. With the kind of stuff we do, threads without photos are usually worthless.

Time to move on, and 'we' have thanks to David. Sometimes you have to accept the internet or it's content is volatile.

My guess is something lapsed or broke and Lionel either isn't aware or willing to correct it. Ashamed though........should be passed on to someone that would be a good caretaker. Lot's of good info there still. Let's give it a little more time before we say a few kind words and pay our last respects.

    Best,

I'm willing to bet someone can have complete and total control over it on Feb 20th, 2021

    Sure....

I sometimes forget that not everyone is an internet nerd, so for those who are not, the alloyavenue.com domain expires on Feb 19 2021. Might get renewed, but given recent events I am guessing not. There's usually a grace period too for the owner to renew and I suspect anyone interested will need to compete with the doamin squatters.

I run a website with a car forum. Occasionally the web host updates their version of PHP and it completely breaks the forum software.
The software requires semi regular maintenance/updates to keep it choochin'. I'm guessing it hasn't been updated, the webhost migrated to a new flavour of PHP, and things broke.
It's gotta be updated from the back-end usually so unlikely something a forum admin could do.

The main website is still accessible so this is my guess
