Korean bell foundry

    I stumbled onto these on YouTube last night.



    Thought it was pretty cool, and educational to see how the pros do things. The 2nd link is the BIG bell, it's really interesting.

    I like the technique used for the lettering. Looks like wax or plastic, held with a weak adhesive to the pattern while the sand is rammed up, and detaches from the pattern when it’s taken out of the flask. Then the bits can be separately removed from the sand before putting the flasks back together and pouring.
