Any body here use Fusion 360 to make patterns for sand casting aluminum?
I am modeling a vertical steam engine in fusion with the intention of casting several parts in aluminum. I will 3d print the patterns in PLA to use in a greensand or petrobond mold.I have attached the base in 2 versions. One version is split and one is whole.

First question, would you cast as split pattern, or whole? Second, how do I get fusion to put draft on either version? I have tried several time on both the whole base and the split pattern, with and without Draft Analysis. I cant seem to get all the surfaces that need draft for either version. I can sketch a rectangular block and add draft as a solid, or cut it in half with a parting or mid plane, and that works fine. Is it because the base has so many surfaces? I cast this base once, a long time before I got into Fusion. I simplified the shape of the base and manually added draft the old fashioned way, on the wood pattern.
