that works for me You should not be able to post in the forum news section.... Unless you want to be a moderator
See what happens when you leave the door open? Hey I even have myself a forum handle. Now all I need is a snappy Avatar. Glad to be here. Best, Kelly
I was poking around and things look good. Not sure what other features xenForo may have available. Is there anything like a Gallery page for members? I was just thinking over time members could memorialize projects in something like that then when you browsed their profile you could see what they had been up to. I didn't try to post a picture but looks easy enough. What's the hosting policy as far as size and space? Best, K
I will be adding in the members gallery shortly, its available as an add on. I was planning of using that add on feature as a paid subscriber perk on the forum once it starts to build up content. The forum is running on a VPS with 30GB of storage. Having it as a VPS makes it easy to upgrade/move to a larger area as things progress. Im still learning what this software can do and will be sprucing things up as I learn how. My main goal this weekend was to get it set up and running and make sure the permissions were set correctly. It fought me tooth and nail, but here we are Im still planning on setting up a store area as well, but that will have to wait until I get the new shop built. That is a whole new can of wax. The county wont let me build the size garage I want on the separate parcel of land I own. I have to join my two parcels into one big parcel and file for a variance due to the set back requirements. Its going to take 2-4 months for all that to be squared away and who knows how long before I start building. Headaches, headaches, headaches.....
Hi all! Looking good, DavidF. Getting into 3d printing in hopes of making patterns... We'll see how that goes.
maximum file size for upload is 1024 kb When you upload the image you are given a choice to insert it as an image or thumbnail. I like the thumb nail personally, I think it will make things less cluttered when viewing threads.
I have an Anet A8. Got it about 3 months ago. Today I'm working on printing parts for a z axis for a router/engraver. Jammer gave me some lead screws, ball screws and linear guides. I printed 2 linear bearings that fit nicely on the 10mm linear guides for the z.
Oh, Hi I'm Here!! From Tennessee soon to be from Ohio. Anyone want to help load the truck? The guy that helped me move here ended up with a lot of stuff I didn't want to bring. No. Chuck, I'm going to take the CNC with me.
That's pretty big. You may be able to trim that back to <=300kb. I don't think I've see a 800x600 much bigger than 225kb. Plus, unless the forum had some kind of sizing feature (how nice would that be?) it typically hoses up the thread format. Best, Kelly
You mentioned you made quite a few of those. Were they all dense enough to hold coolant under temp/pressure? My tubular water necks were not. They would sweat coolant and typically near wax logo feature was a little worse.....so I now am in the vacuum impregnating business. Will post later. The castings look really solid under magnification. Impregnating is pretty much SOP for automotive parts. It may be that lost foam is somewhat more likely to exhibit some porosity. I did not degas any of my pours which may also be a contributing factor. -More later. Best, Kelly
