We don't stay below freezing for very long, and I supplement the stove with propane central heating. We had just an inch or two today and at 6:00 PM it's 32 degrees.
When I made some dextrin in my kitchen oven with it turned up too high, it took about 3 days for the burnt popcorn smell to fade. Or maybe my nose just lost its ability to detect that smell anymore... Either way, problem solved! (That was in summer though, so we were able to open a bunch of windows ) Jeff
I keep eyeballing those hobby sized turbine engines they use on model jets and wondering how hot their exhaust is.
I'm thinking about a cupola furnace. Main thing is getting fuel cheap.. Not so sure about the builders putting up the pole barn. That pad they built to level the ground is over 24" high and they didn't feather out the edges..
The edges will probably see some further changes when the holes are dug but maybe not much. The way it is now is at least stable enough for them to put in the poles and erect the barn. They may consider the backfilling to be landscaping. Of course that's taking little consideration of compaction for concrete... Pete
Materials started arriving. That's the roof trusses on the truck. They are going to dig the post holes tomorrow and put in the concrete footings for inspection... Things may start moving quickly now...
Something tells me I still may not have enough space. I've got alot of "crap" and will only acquire more knowing how I am with my diverse interests ..... 3 ph power is looking more like a possibility, just need to find out what it is going to cost me. Thinking I need a 3 year vacation to get caught up on things.
If you have enough building height a mezzanine floor is pretty hard to beat for extra floor space, even if the upstairs space has a lower ceiling.
I was planning on that Have 14' ceilings and will be putting in a lift. Things moving right along....
what is this "inspection" thing you speak of????? (where I live you only need an inspection for commercial buildings....everything else Game ON!) Hopefully Santa brings you a building this year!
