Nope, mainly art casting patina books. I have ron youngs ceramic shell book that has some recipes but its pretty old.....
Im quite interested in the steel stuff he mentions in the video.

Yeah, I'd like to see them too. My method is acid wash millscale, the I use 35% strength hydrogen peroxide with a cap full of acid. That makes up half a spray bottle and the rest is water. Kevin Caron on youtube treats his steel like this. It's a good brown rust without being ugly orange. As the piece rusts some more outside, it stays pretty dark. It's a good method. The hard part is getting your hands on 35% Hydrogen peroxide. At this strength, it's some serious shit! It's usually sold to guys that do taxidermy. I have a chemical shop here and can get it locally.

When I worked on base we used 50% for water treatment. Im pretty sure Michel Jackson only used the 35% LOL

That's funny, MJ 35%... lol. I bent over and bought this book. They nailed me 12bucks to ship it. Still, it's cheaper than getting it here! :eek:http://www.sculpturesupply.com/detail.php?id=242000&sf=subcategory&vl=Patina&cat=books
that price is canadian btw... Tobho! I see bronze in your future... whhhooooooo

In two weeks when they run out, I'll shove mine up on amazon for $200... I left a $20 paperback jag book on an AA flight one day and remembered it the second I stepped out the door. Evil flight attendant witch wouldnt go back to my seat for me to get it. Try lost and found! (yeah right) 5 years later, that paperback was fetching over $300 as it went out of print. Someone got wise and reprinted it. Replacement copy cost me fifty bucks. I must own 500books at home and personally I HATE THEM! Takes up too much space, but I'll never part with 'em. No I don't own august 1985 either!

I have gotten 50% H2O2 at beauty supply stores. The last time I went to one all they had was 40%. Bad, hazardous chemical to the outside world but it's OK for women to dump on their heads.

In that case, I should look under the bathroom sink at some of my wife's collection of hazardous materials.

Got my book today. I missed that it was a hardcover. Only glanced at it for a minute or two. It is incredible! If you need to patina Bronze, brass or copper.... it shows what the offered patina will look like given the formula and even the METHOD! Pages feel first class and the price on the back is actually $62bucks. Looks like a WINNER so far. Get yours before you can't. It's totally worth the money.

Hey Jason, have you had a chance to look at the book a bit?

I was wondering if the recipes were actual chemicals or if it was a "use 'sculpt nouveau' product A mixed with 'sculpt nouveau' product B" type of thing.

Its just that i would struggle to get the sculpt nouveau premixed chemicals over here i think.

This book makes for really useful and interesting reading. I received a copy with the kind assistance of Jason, and I am happy to report no "extras" were included in the package :) Thank you Jason!
