I just watched this video and didn't really know where to put it. This is a Paul's Garage video about a month old. It's about a new resin for 3D printers called ThermoCAST. You can print the mold and cast directly into it, and the molds are rated for Zamak.
Interesting video. 3d Printing injection molds for plastics to be used on short/prototype runs is also a thing. I did not catch this detail, are the patterns printed with 100% infill?
They are resin printed and the manufacturer's recommended minimum thickness is 8mm for Zamak temperatures. I think Paul said he just rounded that to 10mm. I assumed that was a solid wall, but you know what they say about assuming things.
Thanks. I am so used to filament printing that I don't think in terms of solid or thickness, just infill... From the TDS at https://monocure3d.com.au/product/thermacast-3d-printer-resin/
Tops, I know what you mean. I just got my resin printer, but I've been using FDM printers for about 10 years.
