School me on sand (greensand and LF)

I have to say I'm pleased with the results so far. Excluding the setup and cleanup I managed to produce appr 12l of sand in 10 minutes. Even if I add 5 minutes to that time for emptying the tub I would still manage 50liters per hour. I still need to do a final screening after drying to remove coarse organics like roots and twigs and whatnot, I have a kitchen strainer that's around 40# that should do the trick.

 

I dried a small sample in the stove, the results are encouraging. I got appr 10% retention on 40# (the organics was removed with a 25# screen), and 10% passing 120#. Most of the >40# was probably due to me dumping the excess water from the wash-bucket into the tub.
