I stumbled upon this video about a guy using a charcoal powered cupola and a natural draft propane furnace and in both cases the cast iron was syrupy and the temperature looked more like copper. When I (and others) melt cast iron it looks hotter and flows better. It appears that the propane furnace does not forced draft which does not let the temperature beyond 1200 C which is too low for cast iron. What are your opinions ?
