Oh my goodness that sucked. Paint stripping the inside of the cabinet was very unpleasant. Got most of the paint out. Gonna see if I can power wash it tomorrow then do some welding repairs and improvements.

Finished welding up all the small holes and cutouts. Made a door. Filled in gaps with body filler. Tomorrow will sand, make an arm for the on off switch, weld on a thick plate to the top to support the machine then maybe paint?

I'm gonna connect a laptop 120 - 240v to 12v dc charger to connect some LED lights to the cabinet inside just for some snazz. Should be fun.

Painted inside of cabinet and outside. Getting close to mounting everything. Next week when I get back from work... 20230101_022238.jpg 20230101_022214.jpg

  5. It needs a tiny hidden beer fridge inside for all that effort! :D

    Oooh! Don't tempt me!

I do plan to put a nice elittlw LED light and feed it off the 220v line using a laptop 120-220v input and 12v output charger. Should work rather nicely.

Cut the hole in the cabinet for motor.

Will see about mounting the motor. Then will need to repaint the outside since it got all scuffed up by the jig saw.

Assembled and mostly wired the planer up. Still need to add a switch for the cabinet LED lights and then make the cover for the belt. Then lots of time to figure out how to align the blades for good cuts.

Oh, my! That's going to be a heck of a belt guard. Looks like for sure, three feet between pulleys, and maybe all of four feet. I suggest a two-piece guard, split upper and lower at the adjustment shaft.

How many projects do you have going? You have to be one of the strangest Doctors I've ever known. :D

Probably about 20 different projects going on. Its fun to have multiple things going, so you never get bored and can jump from one to another when the mood strikes. :)

Most Doctors I know wouldn't be able to check their own oil.
