There are threads about Furnaces, Burners, Sand casting, Investment casting, but not about Metals / Alloys ? Can such a thread be added ?
I'm a metallurgical engineer by background. I've seen quite a lot, done quite a lot...worked at a company that cast stainless steel pump/pipe/valve parts...worked at a gray and ductile iron foundry...ran a cupola in college...visited quite a few foundries as part of my job with Boeing...saw aluminum, magnesium, steels, titanium cast....on my own I've cast aluminum, brass and bronze (made from copper and tin) with varying degrees of success.
