Don't come to me if your woman claims her favorite pair of hose are missing.:(
One of these days, I'll get a better video setup.
    Enjoy!

Well I don't have panty hose and I live in a small town where people remember what you buy on the weekends so I'm going to try purifying the wax without panty hose.

Will let it settle for a bit and drain off clean wax from the middle. Hopefully.

Most of the shell shit settles to the bottom I've found. Along with the water. The thing I run into is bound water from my dewax process. If the pot gets too hot, the water on the bottom boils and shoots STRAIGHT UP. The ceiling above where I work is peppered with wax spots from the occasional explosion. So cover up your dinner!

Are you going to use that spout on the side?

Yes side spout. Eek. Ill melt it on warm. Its still bubbling and frothing much better. I hope the wax and water fully separate.

It can be a pain to get the water out. I've gone balls out with the heat and that's worked, I've also done the low, slow and long and that worked. Let me know what works for ya.

Hmm yeah it mixed micro droplets of water into the wax. It sparkles when melted with flames. Not sure how to drive out the moisture.

Long boiling on low heat? Won't the wax evaporate?

Nah... the wax won't evaporate. When I have a pot that's REALLY bad with water, I get it pretty friggen hot and whack the surface with a propane torch. I've also gotten it hot, shut the heat off and poured off the top 2/3 and repeat. Sometimes it takes a few melts to get it back. But it will come back. Something else I've seen with some panty hose, the stuff is fine and I find water doesn't filter through it! So I get left with green water droplets on TOP of the pantyhose. Maybe even double up a layer of panty hose and solve this issue for good???

There is a device we use in the airplane world called a Gats Jar. Now get this shit, We sump AVGAS into the jar. Then we can pour the gas through the screen back into the tank. Any water gets trapped in the jar. So the screen must be fine enough to allow the fuel to go through, but not the water. This would work with wax IF you could keep the screen warm. BUT I think it's made of some kind of plastic. Not sure. Interesting thought however.

Interesting. There's got to be an easy way to remove water without massively annoying remelts and time consuming reprocessing. I think you might be onto something with the panty hose removing water.

Strangely Google has no idea what I'm looking for when I ask it how to remove water from wax. Someone else has to have figured out a process for this.

Maybe melting it and putting it in a vacuum chamber to remove the water would work?

Google is a moron. The only thing that comes up for water removal from wax is related to Bongs and pot smokers.
Maybe melting IN a vacuum...o_O I agree, there must be an easier way that wont involve the fire dept. The pantyhose really does capture a lot of water on top of it.

Well I'll start with the hose and try the chamber if it fails. Melting in a chamber is what I meant.
