Hi All, I'm Chip from Houston, TX Totally new to the trade. Trying to learn what I can before putting a lot of money into this as a hobby. I think the lost wax/foam processes will be best suited for what I want to do. I have a full complement of metal and woodworking machines to aid in mold making and making a huge host of projects. I am excited to learn and participate in the group and the trade overall.
Welcome Chip. In time, you'll have to tell us a little more about the types of projects and metals you'd like to cast. You might be surprised how inexpensively you can get started depending upon what you would like to do. Having the ability to work soft materials and metal is a definite plus, especially if you can do some basic welding, as that will be very beneficial for economically building your own basic foundry equipment.
