Lately we have been getting hit hard by Russian spam bots and could use a bit of help with approving new members. I would like to see you (all of you) nominate your choice of candidates then we will see if they accept. If there is more than one candidate that accepts then we will hold an election... The elected will be given administrative access, so nominate accordingly...
I can think of several good candidates. But the first person that comes to my mind is @Melterskelter. He's always been very active on the forum and even already recently volunteered to help ease some of the burden Dave and Kelly have been shouldering here after the recent outage. Jeff
Speaking of MS, I think it's been over a month since he has posted......that seems unusual. Hope all is well. Anyone heard from him? Best, Kelly
Is there any particular quality (once its been established that someone is not a bot), that would make for a good or poor moderator? I once was a moderator on a freecycle group, and its a thankless task. We had to approve every posting, but it was pretty easy: giving something away? ok. spam or politics? no. I'd say once someone had proof of melt, they could probably handle it.
