I have looked FB, but haven't seen anything suitable over here in the UK as very few of the battle bots that I’ve looked at use tracks. I’ve redesigned my original track link to eliminate the undercuts, just waiting to get the 3D prints and I will do a trial aluminium cast in green sand. Hopefully that will also give me an idea of how much post casting machining will need to be done.
Just looked at McMaster Carr catalogue David, didn't see anything suitable. We are not familiar with them in the UK, I do use some of their electrical parts when I’m building aircraft but otherwise, the are relatively unknown over here. Did look at some specialist firms making chain conveyors. Some of that looked good but the metal stuff was very heavy. Besides, no fun in just buying it off the shelf.
It looks like our experimental Lance Air's. Very slippery and very fast, they kill idiots here who have no business in them. They get slow and behind the plane on final and dork it up.
No where near as quick as a Lancair Jason, it’s a tiny little thing, only got either a Rotax 912s or a Jabiru 3300, 110kts cruise, max 130, a development of the Sportscruiser. I built one a few years ago but it didn’t float my boat.
That's too bad. It's a slick looking airplane. I have zero desire to even own an airplane, but I would take a mooney. My buddy had a Mooney rocket normally aspirated 6cyl. That thing would do 187kts true at 9000ft sucking back 11.7gph. Talk about a cheap way to fly! But I also FIT into a mooney when many guys dont.
One of my mates just part exes his Mooney for a Golden Eagle, he did a lot of long over water flights with the family on board so wanted the extra safety of a twin
