Winter came early in the Midwest. We had snow cover in early November. So my cnc router has been getting a workout. I've been making patterns and have a lot of casting to do. Here's a few of them. It's a continuation of making intakes for folks that compliment my Inline Autolite Carburetor hobby. I usually make the intakes for vintage Ford performance engine platforms. I've had a number of inquiries about intakes for these combinations as they are popular and often more economical builds these days compared to the old iron. These two are for aftermarket Windsor style heads, namely the AFR 205 and AFR 220 heads. They have different port size and positions than OE Ford Windsor heads so I made the intakes to suit and be a bolt on system. One is an 8.2" deck block with AFR 220cc heads and the other is 9.5" deck block with AFR 205cc heads. Both are stroker engines. Pictured below are the intake patterns and a couple of drop base air filter patterns in the background. It's actually 55F here today, but unfortunately raining or would have been great casting weather. I have quite the backlog. Will get them cast as weather and life permits. Best, Kelly
Got them dip coated and had a brief weather window so I cast the 9.5 deck version, then the weather deteriorated. Will post up on the castings when I get the second one cast. Being a Midwest (USA) hobby caster has its challenges. Best, Kelly
Got these two intakes cast and finish machined. Time to finish building them into systems. Best, Kelly
Thanks Rocketman. I keep posting and making YT videos but they're getting to be a bit repetitious. Even though they are different intake manifolds for different engines, they are essentially the same casting project. However, my next few projects will be something different. -Stay tuned. Best, Kelly
