I’m looking to cast a base with 8 holes in it. How much will aluminum (A356) cast at a reasonable temperature 1350f shrink? If I just increase the size of the whole model will that be sufficient (ie is the shrinkage “linear” in all directions assuming uniform thickness….) I may just be over complicating things….. but everything I have ever cast that had features that “matter” I machined after rough casting. This time the item is too large for my mill.
