Ran across this video on YT while looking for ways to make a nice green patina.
The real test is what happens when you TOUCH it. Some patinas I've played around with are fragile so that tells me its superficial and probably not strong enough.
Someone near you has got to sell the real stuff. Or >>>>>>>> http://www.sculptnouveau.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=36&category=6
Looks like a safer bet, and not very expensive either... I will order some to play with. I have the Groot casting i want to patina up. (Becasuse im too lazy to polish him) lol
Whats a Groot? Got a photo?
Dont have one on my phone.
He was cast in the 2nd ceramic shell video i made...
Oh I remember that thing.. fugly looking creature....
I would not let him hear you say that....
He mentions in the video that "blue vitriol" is getting hard to obtain....that's just an old fashioned name for copper sulphate. Most of the finishes I've been playing around with are the opposite of patinas, like passivating brass for example.
