Hello All: I built a small furnace in the back yard in service of my similarly small basement machine shop. I'm more of a sculptor than a machinist, so maybe I'll try casting some pieces. My homemade furnace only gets hot enough for aluminum--bronze is a little out of range at this point. I found the site while trying to get an answer to a technical question but it looks like a great place; I think I'll hang around! Great to be here. PTC
Great to have you! I started casting to make machining stock. Like anything more practice and you'll get better. Post some pictures, lots of people will be interested in your setup, machine shop included.
