    Hey guys

I am doing some lost wax patterns for a friend and these are my first trials. I am trying to get the temperature and pressure right for this part. the shrinkage is fair but it is splitting close to the injection point.

need some direction - too hot - too much pressure - wrong wax - part volume to much etc

this is the freeman purple wax
injected at 10psi and 175 deg

    thanks for your help

something is constraining the pattern as it cools/solidify/shrinks. Possibly from the sprue location??
Ive used the purple carve able before and noticed that it does shrink a bit.. You could try the tuffy green or if you can get your hands on some filled pattern wax that would be the way to go, or moving the sprue to the top of the wax patterns rim (straight down on it) so it gets pulled into the mold as the wax shrinks.......

Less shrinkage, but the wax gets more brittle as the amount of filler increases.
The tuffy green has some filler in it, but nothing like what the Romo cast stuff does. But the Romo cast is difficult to get in the US...
