Pattern-making video from my sump project.

    There was a chap from ireland who (from memory) was turning out rocker covers and serious castings for VW stuff. Unfortunately a lot of the detail was lost with a falling out on AA or some such. Anyone else remember those threads?

    That is one hell of a lot of work for one casting but I do get the personal incentive, keep posting the videos please :)

    Yes I remember demag's posts. Was always very impressed with his work.

    Fantastic work Olly! Your ingenuity and perseverance is superb.

    The castings that failed due to the metal not reaching every nook and cranny, makes think that it was because the metal was not hot enough. The fact that you poured two very good castings using much the same feeding system, seems to bear this out.

    I had a similar fail casting multiple parts on a long pattern-plate; it worked for the first 5 attempts and then failed for no. 6. Hotter metal thereafter and no more failures,
