Pouring shank/crucible tongs hybred

Hiho,did we all easter egg out?

So heres a au$100 pair of crucible tongs that I brought from a old gold mine..

Just love the eye bolt/ rivit design, use it as a lifting tong 1st,then with a hook n chain suspended over your mold use the eye as a pivot point to use the tongs as a pouring shank..

Has anyone come across this sort of design b4?...



This is the 2nd pair of tongs I'v scored from a mine site the 1st are evily heavy & had to use high carbon welding rods to fix/mod the jaws in to lifting tongs..
(will post pictures later)

..the problem with the 1st reworked lifting tongs is that it only grabs one side of the crucible,i.e inside & outside - so am not shure if thats safe. Yence the eye bolt tongs..
