Hello all, What percentage to yall upscale to account for shrinkage? I understand it varys by the part size and thinkness but just wanted a general idea. Im trying to hold some pretty tight tolerances and so far I have done 103% and 102% both being to big, but it is a thin part. Thanks!
I spitball it at 1/8" per foot (about 1%) for aluminum. Alloy, net shape, temp and feeding all come into play though. For a given combination of factors you may want to run some tests. It sounds like you already have. http://www.calculatoredge.com/charts/mshrinka.htm Pete
