Hello, I have always wanted to do a little backyard foundry setup, eyeballing water heater tanks and things. I make traditional-style woodwinds sold at OtterLakeFlutes.com and I'd love to get into casting a rough whistle portion of a wind instrument and then filing it to precision and cleaning it up. Had fantasies about a banjo tone ring at one point, DIY and clean it up on the lathe. But I first have a question to ask for a friend who is a remarkable carver of characters and things in wood, who could use advice. I came here to get it, and I'll open a thread for that.
