This furnace is intended to melt a whopping 2 Cu. In. of Aluminum. With the mapp gas as my torch, it shouldn't take too long to get molten metal Here are a couple photos I still need to create a lid for it
Portamelt, that is an interesting project and I like the form of the ladle/crucible. You'll have to update us once you have it going.
One of those small induction units would work well here maybe? https://www.amazon.com/Vbestlife-In...mzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc (would need a 50 amp continuous power supply though) If you are trying to work with what you have this is a moot point.
