One thing that i would really like to do is to cast some cast iron jewelry. im guessing its hard and their isnt any info on it really. so far i have found they use a very pure iron others have said that it has a high phosphorous content 0.7%. does anyone know how to cast extremely intricate iron??
You probably do not mean the regular cast iron which is Fe + 3% C(arbon) and very brittle, but easy to cast. Are you talking about pure iron with 0.7% P (phosplor steel) ?
One of the members here gave his experiences casting iron fruit bowls in the UK which were a high phosphorous iron. It was quite fragile as I understand. Fruit bowls phosphorous
berlin iron couldnt of been all that fragile... take a look at this. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/45/de/73/45de73186dcc54251ace13fbb6ec3c93.jpg
You'll likely find the thin wires are conventional wrought iron or steel and added to the iron piece after casting, otherwise the failure rate would be pretty high.
