Just picked up this Mifco ML250 muller yesterday and I'm getting ready to drop the motor out and see if it can be wired to 230V vs the 460 it currently is... But have a question.. Is this on the lower right a type of soft start?? And if so I'm assuming I would need to swap it out to one for 230 V ??? I'm keeping it 3ph, just need to drop voltage. Or I could wire my step down transformer backwards and step up the voltage. Just not sure if it would handle the amps.. Sand blasting and repaint is on the to do list for the winter...
Going to sand blast and paint it when I can find the time. And it's surprising easy to move for something that weighs 1,100 lbs... Still needs a bit of work, especially with the wiring, but I feel pretty fortunate since it only set me back $500.00.
Nice find David. I did a quick search and was led to believe 440 3 phase could be run on 220 3 phase, but with some loss of power. Is the motor plate legible?
If the motor is 460V when wired in star configuration it'll be 265V when wired as delta which is close enough to run off 230V with an inverter drive.
Tag on the machine said it was a 460 volt unit, so I dropped the motor out to see if I could wire it to 230... well it was a waste of time.. It was already wired to 230 v... lol Posted a video of it running 5 posts up
OK im very familiar with that machine,, sometimes that had a domed lid with a hole in the middle that went to a funnel that would be attached to the center hub so you could pour liquids into it , otherwise it would often have a very heavy expanded metal grate replacing the dome, this was really good for breaking up large chucks of dry sand, those wheels have some SERIOUS wear, they have sharp corners when new, well at least the one I used did ours had two pipes that attached to the sides so you could move it like a wheelbarrow , but you have to find the Hub caps or your just not cool V/r HT1
I went back and kept stopping the video to see what makes it tick. Like the shape of that scraper in the bottom. Looks like you'll need some new leaf springs and boots.
