Hello from Alabama, US. I've been lurking and learning off and on for a while, and now that I'm temporarily unemployed, there's a little time to practice. I'm primarily interested in jewelry casting but plan to experiment with other metals eventually. I just like creating stuff. Being a jeweler's 'apprentice' was one of the most interesting jobs I've ever had, and that's coming from a professional tattooist, so the bar isn't low.
Hi Raven, I just joined my local Gem club and I see they have all the equipment for making lost wax investment castings. This is in Australia, but there may be a similar club in your area with equipment to use.
Thanks. It would be great if we had something like that around here, but I live at the corner of 'No' and 'Where'. Investment casting is definitely on the to-do list whenever the budget works out though.
I definitely tend toward the low budget side of lost wax casting.. You can't get a much lower budget than this.. Viking Bronze, Good info in the attached papers..
