Wow, very encouraging. I can see that as a great tool for laying out letters and images for plaques. How smooth can the printed pattern get and how does the material detail hold up over time with being rammed?
Mapping raster files to z-axis depth is not new. That said, the software in the video looked pretty nice, especially the cut and paste into an existing bottle holder model. Here is an almost 10 year old program mapping a black and white font as JPEG into 3D as STL and output to a hobby filament printer. I imagine using a resin or SLS printer would be more detailed.
Thanks so much for posting these....... I would never have found them. Particularly the first one with the guitar..... what a monster. Also the second one was of great interest as I also complete a fair amount of metal spinning...somewhat of a lost art these days. Anyway thanks again for taking the time to post these. Charlie
