I make replicas of bronze age daggers, axes, etc. Lately I've had problems with the pour freezing before reaching the point of the blade, about 5-7 ", pouring flat, &/or slight 8-10 degree up and down from sprue, doing the *Marvin method of sprue. Same alloys that poured OK before, I'm sure I'm the problem, but anyway thinking of trying vertical pour. Any tips on vertical venting, sprue design, sprue at small point or handle base, etc ? * Olfoundryman Thanks,,, John ,,
