Shirinkage

    I poured the rear hub for the Waterloo .. front to
    On the rear hub in the middle between the large diameters it shurunk at the edges I know I need a feeder
    Can I put it opposite the run on the cope side ?

    The clean one is the front hub the sandy one is the rear
    Same pour same sand mix .....cleaned up easy

  2. The shaft cooled first. Then the rim of the large diameters cooled, and there was nothing to feed the T joints.

    You want your feeder to be hotter than your casting so feed through it. If you put it at the far side it will want to cool first even if it is designed properly.

    Why are you feeding into both large diameters? That is asking for a cold shut where the metal fronts meet. Look closely.

    Its a hot spot where they meet. You can try making a bigger radius to help or add some feeders above it.
