I posted on Doug's latest video that I heard this was a hoax, and Doug (or somebody) immediately deleted my comment. He has jumped shark for sure. Sad. His credibility will be zero after this. I feel for all those who have done so much to help him. They deserve better than this treatment. Edit: But none the less, a good reminder to be safe and be careful. I am thinking it is not really legal to use fraud to drive youtube views/monitization, and ultimately it seems he is benefitting financially from fraud (just a guess; I don't have any facts to back up that statement). I think he is cruising not into the ocean, but cruising into the courts with a big ole fraud lawsuit. Its like yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater. Its not legal to do that. There will be some serious blowback on this. He is going to lose a lot of good friends over this too. Old age is not doing him any favors. The folks that are aiding and abetting him in this scheme are also sticking their necks way out. .
I just cannot imagine them thinking this would be funny on any level. MAYBE if it was april fools day, but not really.
